APIRR resource guide

Definition

APIRR is a public database incorporating Internet routing information within the full APNIC Whois Database, which can be used for route object registration and whois queries.

The registry is linked to the distributed Internet Routing Registry (IRR) and runs on a RIPE v3 database server using the RPSL specification. Several TCP-based tools are available to enable router configuration (for example, the IRRToolSet).

APIRR, the APNIC Whois Database, and the APNIC Routing Registry

In mid December 2002, APNIC begins operating a fully functional Internet Routing Registry as part of the APNIC Whois Database. At this time, objects from the APIRR will be merged into the APNIC Routing Registry and the APIRR will cease to exist. For more information on how this may affect you, see:

The APIRR will remain fully operational until mid December 2002.
