• Draft APNIC Standard Membership Agreement (v5) and Draft APNIC Definitions Document (v3)

  • Documents approved (159 yes; 23 no).

• Revised membership Structure

  • New structure approved (100 yes; 82 no)
  • Now incorporated into the "APNICFee Schedule: Membership Tiers, Fees, and Descriptions"
  • Request made to develop new names for the categories.

Consensus items arising from SIGs

Address policy SIG

• Broadband WG proposal for APNIC cable and xDSL policies and guidelines

  • (The element of this proposal relating to clarification of registration requirements, was also discussed in the Joint Routing/DB SIG)
  • The proposal was accepted by consensus
  • Note, during the APNIC Member Meeting, the proposed registration threshold of /30 was approved by consensus, but a counter-proposal to increase the threshold to /28 was referred back to the Address policy SIG for discussion at the next meeting.

• Proposed criteria for initial, portable allocations of IPv4 address space

  • The proposal was accepted by consensus.

• Proposed small multihoming assignment policy (IPv4)

  • The proposal was accepted by consensus.

• An IPv4 Address policy for IX points

  • The proposal was accepted by consensus (except for the provisions relating to "critical infrastructure").

Joint IPv6 / Address policy SIG

• Proposal for new IPv6 Address policy

  • There was consensus for the general principles proposed, but it was agreed that specific details such as minimum allocation size need to be discussed further. Furthermore, it was agreed that this proposal be developed further and communicated to other RIR meetings.

• Proposed extension of the bootstrap period for the allocation of IPv6 address space

  • There was consensus that the IPv6 bootstrap period should be extended until the next IPv6 policy is implemented, on the understanding that the next policy takes account of bootstrapping needs.

• Proposal for provider independent IPv6 address space assignments for Internet exchanges

  • There was consensus to accept this proposal, with an amendment to specify that /64 assignments should be used for Exchange point assignments.

Other items

• APNIC Document Review Policies and procedures

  • This document was adopted by the Executive Council on 28 August 2001, in accordance with the consensus reached at the previous APNIC Member Meeting.
