All,
Since no comments have been expressed, please let me make the draft
recommendation to the formal one. Let me repeat the recommendation again:
---
APNIC should deprecate email update for its registry and whois data with
phasing-out period.
---
Hi Shin,
The horse has bolted and the milk has been spilt, but I just want to say in closing (for reasons I have already been over and don't intend going over again) that I still don't think deprecating email updates is a good idea.
I acknowledge the benefits of this proposal as listed by Jas and Terry previously.
If you'll excuse me now, I have to go convince my superiors to pull a developer off a revenue generating project and onto changing our whois updating system. It could happen...
Cheers,
Tim.
The details of the period are mentioned at:
http://www.apnic.net/docs/policy/proposals/prop-037-v002.html
Please post comments for this recommendation by Friday, August 24. Then
I will submit it to the Policy SIG ML.
Shin

All,
It's time to prepare recommendation for Policy SIG in APNIC 24.
Since no opinions either for or against APNIC's proposal was expressed
here, let me ask the draft recommendation and you can comment:
---
APNIC should deprecate email update for its registry and whois data with
phasing-out period.
---
This follows the policy APNIC proposed at APNIC 23:

policy/archive/2007/02/msg00002.html
Please post comments to this mailing list if you have.
