All,To gain some perspective of how the wider community feels about using the email interface to update APNIC data, John Earls of KPMG agreed to provide preliminary results from the recent APNIC member survey which directly relates to the RMS topic.
Question 19 asks for a rating, where 1 is 'strongly disagree' and 10 is 'strongly agree', on the statement "The APNIC email interface to update the whois database is reliable and easy to use".
This question received an average rating of 7.33.To add perspective to this figure, it was the second lowest rating in the "Online Services" section.
Another section of the survey asks for respondents to indicate activities that should be given priority in APNIC. In the technical area "Develop APIs for automatic data exchange with customers' systems" received an average weighting of 17.36. The lowest weighted activity in this area was given 2.23 and the highest 26.91.
