Re: [sig-policy] last call: prop-061: Autonomous System Numbers (ASN) for documentation purposes

Randy,

Members of this list may have noticed in the IDR mailing list that draft-huston-as-documentation-reservation-00.txt has been submitted to effect a reservation by IANA (through IETF direction) of AS numbers for documentation purposes. It appears (based only on my personal observation of the mailing list, and not a statement of formal working group outcome) that consensus will see this draft adopted soon as an IDR WG document, and there have been some calls to see this document fast-tracked to RFC status.

I note that adoption of this draft as an RFC could make prop-061 redundant.

Regards,

                                        David

thomas,

my memory of the discussion at the meeting was
o there is precedent for apnic doing this

would you be willing to work the rfc part?
