Re: [SIG-IX] APNIC Exchange Point SIG - Call for Presentations

Yes, you have guessed correctly how the focus of the APIA IX session will
compare with that of the APNIC IX SIG. The IX SIG will focus purely on
technical and operational issues pertaining to IXes, and the APIA hosted
event will concentrate on the wider political and business perspective of
Exchange Points. Kyoko and I recently discussed the interaction between the
two events, just to ensure that there we covered all angles, and that there
was no possible overlap.

I'm not aware of a specific IX session in the main APRICOT track though -
that might just have been a scheduling slip up as we were trying to find an
appropriate timeslot for the APNIC IX SIG meeting. I'll check the agenda
with Robert.

Thank you very much for volunteering, greatly appreciated. As I've
mentioned in the call for papers, in discussion with APNIC I proposed that
we hold an election to appoint the chair (or co-chairs) for the IX SIG as
the first item on the SIG agenda. We have had a few volunteers, so will
request the SIG attendees to appoint the chair from the nominees.

Hopefully this has clarified what is happening in Bangkok - feel free to
contact me privately if you think there is still a possibility of confusion
about what is happening...

best wishes!
