Subject: New IPv6 project, IPv6 for e-Business
Dear IT Manager/Service Provider,
*** This is a special request for you to pass this information on
to whoever is responsible for your organisational network planning
(IT/Systems/Network manager or architect), asking them to complete
our Australian IPv6 readiness survey at http://www.ipv6.org.au/ ***
ISOC-AU has recently been working on a new project, funded by DCITA and
in a consortium with auDA, AEEMA and BuildersNet, to examine Australian
readiness to implement IPv6.
We will be mapping Australian IPv6 capability, providing business tools
to be tested with SMEs in the building and defence industries, using
auDA's IPv6-ready testbed to check applications, and generally raising
awareness of IPv6.
We've set up a website - http://www.ipv6.org.au/ - and one of the first
things we are doing is a survey of Australian business plans for IPv6.
It would be very helpful if those who are responsible for organisational
systems or networks would have a look at the (very brief) survey - even
if you have no plans for IPv6 we would still like to know about it!
Others of you may be interested in the reasons for the project - see
http://www.ipv6.org.au/background.html, or the activities we will be
involved in.
I would be happy to hear any ideas or suggestions about this.
Best wishes,
Kate
