[sig-db] announcement for SIG-DB Co-chair positions

Dear Colleagues,

Due to the resignation of Dr Hakikur Rahman
<mailto:sig-db-chair@apnic.net>, APNIC is seeking a volunteer to serve
as the Co-Chair for the Database Special Interest Group (SIG).
The Co-chair is a volunteer position whose responsibilities
include:

- chairing the SIG session
- developing the agenda
- posting proposals and information about the SIG to the SIG mailing
list
- encouraging and facilitating discussion on the mailing list and at
the APNIC meeting

If you are interested in becoming a Co-chair, please include
a short biography and description of your interest in an email to

The deadline for receiving nominations is 27 February 2007.

If there are many volunteers, there will be elections at the Database
SIG meeting at APNIC 23 in Bali, Indonesia, 26 February - 2 March 2007
to choose the new Co-chair.

All SIG Chairs undertake this work on a volunteer basis. The APNIC
Secretariat speaks on behalf of the community in being very appreciative
of the work done by the Chairs and Co-chairs.
