[jobs-announce (apnic)] System Administrator - Application Services




We have an opportunity for a Systems Administrator with a focus on systems
and application development to be part of our Systems Administration team.
The role works closely with the Senior Systems Administrator and provides
opportunities to work autonomously and with the team.  Responsibilities will
include infrastructure and application support, projects, systems process
documentation, and support for internal customers with their desktop
hardware and software needs.  APNIC uses Microsoft, Apple, and UNIX-based
systems.



This is an opportunity to work in a small but high profile organisation with
high visibility in the global internet infrastructure.  APNIC is located in
Milton and has over 40 staff from diverse cultures.  APNIC offers
opportunities for training and study leave and study assistance are
available.



We are seeking a degree qualified candidate with a minimum of four years'
experience in a systems administration role, with at least one year in a
similar role with equivalent responsibilities.  You must have experience
with UNIX and UNIX-derived system administration; C/C++, Perl, and shell
programming; and systems and application installation and deployment.  You
will also possess a willingness to assist both technical and non-technical
users with their desktop and roaming systems; be able to work independently
without close supervision; and be able to organise, plan, and assess your
daily tasks.  The position description further outlines the responsibilities
